Mostly angles, Tindo, but I also used a penlight to highlight the flowers and took the second picture in a pitch dark room with a flashlight as the only lighting.

Yea, I was going to ask how you got the highlight on the flower and no light on the background. Very nice work! I think I will use that trick. hehe.

Beautiful job there. In need to try different lighting techniques in general for both botanical and portrait photography.
May I suggest bumping up the level just a smidge to eliminate any vestige of background?
