Get your meme cards ready! These are my two babies, Sam and Lestat. They are both rescues, I got Sam (the grey and white one) from a shelter and I got Lestat as an interception on his way to a shelter. Black cats are statistically adopted less, and he was such a sweetheart I was not going to let him go!

Sam is 7 or so (I think?) and Lestat is around 3. =) Lestat likes to help me with my homework (and only pays attention to me when I'm doing something important), and Sam likes to sleep laying on his back with his white belly displayed for all to see...he will also do basically anything for a treat. He's an exhibitionist and a voyeur.

Lestat is all-out mischief, and his favorite thing in the whole wide world is to lick all of the cheese off of a Cheeto. Sam's favorite human food is scrambled eggs (they HAVE to be scrambled!). As you can see, their lives are very hard.

They are monsters! But they keep life interesting. My fiance enjoys them for their feet warming capabilities.

I've never understood why black cats ate adopted less. They are amazing cats most of the time.

Thank you! It's funny, I didn't actually want Sam, I was coerced! And I am very glad I was, he has turned out to be awesome now that he is out of his shell (he used to run away from EVERYTHING).

As I understand it, black cats are adopted less because they are seen less (blend in and so forth) and because a lot of people are superstitious. Black cat in your path making you have bad luck and all. But since I grabbed Lestat, I have gotten accepted to the university I wanted to attend, got a great job, met "the one" and am getting married in November, so I suppose that he has been the opposite of bad luck for me, lol!
