Spectracide Immunox (Myclobutanil) safe for orchids? Male
Default Spectracide Immunox (Myclobutanil) safe for orchids?

I have an outbreak of fungus (brown spot?) in my collection. I've performed surgery on infected plants, and covered the wounds with cinnamon. I've also given the whole collection a spraying with Physan 20. I'm in the process of breaking down and sanitizing my growing area. I'd like to treat my plants with a systemic fungicide. The only systemic that is available locally is Spectracide Immunox (Myclobutanil). Their website says it's safe to use on ornamental plants, and gives a long list of woody and herbaceous ornamentals this product can be used on. Does anyone have experience with this product on orchids?

Different fungicides treat different fungi. None of them works on all fungi. Try hard to find out what the fungus is. Take some to your county ag agent or a university bio department. They can identify it for you.
