Pool grade DE is heat treated which converts much of the silcon dioxide it contains into silica. Any tiny particulate is bad to breathe in, but silica is REALLY bad to breathe in.

Well, at least they are good for comic relief. The only thing more gross would be earwigs. I hate bugs!

Earwigs - the original name for the rock band later known as Alice Cooper!

Diatomaceous Earth kills them, too.
