Virus or not?

It had the infection when I got it so I don't know what kind of lighting conditions it had. All my indoor orchids sit on shelves under lights so I don't really have anywhere indoors to put it without it being near the others orchids.

It wasn't an expensive plant so it isn't really worth risking the health of my whole collection. Having said that I also hate the thought of throwing away a healthy plant just cause it has a few leaves that are damaged.

Yesterday's post of Epc.Rene Marques 'Tyler' shows higher pigment due to more (strong) light. The pale patches in the first photo may be signs of sunburn (?), possibly a bit too much light. Place the plant in somewhat lower light conditions, it should be fine.

I am not seeing any sign of a virus, or other disease process, in these new photos. I think with all the extra light, you should expect it to bloom.

What I see is an orchid getting too much light/sun. Those leaves are in the slow process of being burned. Orchid leaves should be a nice grass green color. When the leaves start to turn red or feel warm/hot to the touch, the orchid is getting way too much sun/light. This is my personal opinion, after growing orchids for over fifty yrs. BettyE.

Lepetit, are there any trees or plants that orchids are not suppose to be near?
