They munch my leaves yes sorry we call them dirt dobbers. I love them and the spider wasps as well they are awesome. They just like to munch my phal leaves

That's odd -- they are predators not herbivores. Hmm, are you sure its them doing the munching as opposed to touring the chids' leaves as they hunt for prey?

@Paul I am not sure, But I can say they are not the chewings of grasshoppers. So the only culprit I can think of are wasps/ dirt dobbers looking for water for their nests.
