NOID Laeliacattleya with virus? HELP!!
Default NOID Laeliacattleya with virus? HELP!!

I need some advice. About three years ago I bought an apparently healthy division of a pink NOID Laeliocattleya. It grew well, bloomed once and then I put it out in the yard here in So Cal. It continued to grow, had two sheaths with buds that rotted off this past winter. I divided it into two plants that have been struggling. Both sent off new growths, but they didn't root well, are dessicated, and now one of the two just started flowering. At first the buds seemed normal but then they opened and seemed diseased, maybe a virus? I guess I am ready to heave both plants into the green waste garbage. So does everyone concur?

NOID Laeliacattleya with virus? HELP!! Male
Default

Sorry to say, the color breaks in the flower & health break down of the plant suggestes Virus.
Other factors can cause plant health problems, even sprays can affect the flower but.. not like this.
Its incinerator material.
