Hi
I need help. I have Den Chryseum I acquired in the last homestead orchid show that has been getting brown tips, and I do not seem to find a solution to this problem. I feed it once a week with 20-20-20 and give it a few drops of super thrive once a week too. I had been watering most dens with foggers twice a day for 8 mins, but have recently changed to every other day once a day. I will try to posts pics. Please help! What could it be?
Brown tips is a sign of over fertilizers or bad water quality.
I think you are fertilizing too much. I've had orchids that I never fertilize and they flower just fine.
I would cut back on the fertilizers. Also watering with foggers would not flush out excess salt build up.
Have you tried hosing the whole plant down at least once a week. That's how most grower water their plants.
Good luck
Andrew
Fertilizer burn- superthrive should be used one drop per gallon of water. I had tip burn from too much salt in my well water. What type of water are you using.? As suggested a good pot flush would benefit it,go after it like a firehose, really flush
Can you water the soil and not the leaves if the water is bad.. ( I'd remove it from the foggers) Try starting to fertilizer once a month with a weak solution
