Right, now I know she is a Hungarian currently living in the Netherlands...
That makes my understanding now clear.
They not only have mass production of orchids, they have the best culture and knowhow in hybrids of phals...
they also have the new tested media and a wide array of pots and supplies...
I get fertilizers from Europe that has no residue...too bad I dont get them anymore on line.
Now..Hungary is a totally different ballgame...I was wondering how a furniture store in Hungary would sell orchids(if there is a furniture store at all)...where to get supplies and it is easy to get in touch with the growers in Hungary than in Netherlands....to return plants or to get its culture.

What fertilizers are they? I hate all the residues on my mounted orchids after dunking them. The fertilizer I use now doesn't leave very much (unlike a previous one which left the plants coated in a white!). So if you know of better, I'm interested!

Hi Camille,
AlgoFlash Orchid Fertilizer (4N-6P-6K) ~ with magnesium and micro-nutrients ~ is a concentrated liquid orchid fertilizer containing all of the necessary nutrients and magnesium to stimulate generous flowering on Orchids with no additives which can harm tender Orchid plants.
One capful makes a full gallon!
One Quarter-Liter size (10.1 oz.) makes approximately 30 gallons!
AlgoFlash is Europe's fastest growing liquid plant food and provides a balanced source of nutrition, rich in essential elements and magnesium. It is non-toxic and odorless.
I got it from Ebay...the seller is no longer selling it...

Funny, that's the one I use!! It leaves a tiny little bit of residu, but only on the mounts that soak nearly everyday. I got it in France, can't find any here.

Thank you very much for the help, I will give the plant a soak tomorrow morning.
And yes, I am from Hungary, currently living in Holland, quite the same furniture store and orchid culture in both places. The plant is from an Ikea. There is not too much sunshine here at the moment, I have all my plants near the window.
Camille, thank you for the info about the viral infections in plants, I did not know this!

Glen, it must have been the store I was at then because I had a LOUD argument with the manager and he would not budge. They were COMPACTING a whole shopping cart FULL of orchids and I tried every way I could to talk, cajole, and even beg him to sell them to me. I distinctly remember asking him to tell me where the compactor was and I was going to go out there and rescue them, but he ordered security to escort me off the premises !
Yeh, guess it was that store ! I never went back !
Sorry for the bit of a rant there !!!

Glen, you can do an Ebay complaint and demand for the actual described plant. The seller is misrepresenting and its grounds for complaints...you can also give a negative

Bud - That would be fine with a stranger, but this is someone I know. I would rather handle it outside of Ebay, besides it was not alot of money, I just don't like unscrupulous business people. Hopefully by handling it outside of Ebay I will be able to make him see the error of his ways. Trust me, if I wanted to, by word of mouth alone, I could ruin his business. I don't want it to come to that, I want him to realize that in the long run he is hurting himself more than his customers. Actually, what I would like, is for him to tell me that it was an honest mistake and that he wasn't that familiar with the species and that he believed it to be what he said it was and apoligize and ask me how he can make it up to me. If he did all that, I would be fine and that would be that. One way or the other it wil get worked out.
