Might just be little spiders. I have some on my orchids, and also see silk strands on them. They're tiny little spiders and quite cute. Mine like to scuttle about on the blooms.

I get the tiny spiders sometimes to and don't bother doing anything about them. I have never had large webs, just a strand here and there.

Spiders eat mites and those flying bugs that bring fungus...unless they are the poisonous kind I wont bother...its easy to deal with spider web than those white clump of fungal infestations

they are probably tiny spiders. They are common this time of the year especially in our screen porch. They just hatch and come down on fine strings or go from thing to thing. I had one land on my sandwich last week--good thing I didn't eat the poor little guy! I just leave them be, after all, I figure if they are alive, there must be some bugs for them to eat; and yes the bigger ones freely leave the echtoskeletons of bugs so I know they are doing their job.
We do have to be careful for the brown recluse and the black widow, but other than that I don't know of any poisonous spiders here. But you do need to be careful. When I bring my chids in for the winter, I try to leave most of the spidies outside.

I see these in my orchids all the time. I'm never worried about them.I don't remove them as I feel they are protecting my orchids from other pests I don't want.To me they're friendly.
Its' the micro webs that make me gag as I know these to be red spider mites, worst pests you can have in my opinion. When I see these -- Its war!!

Thank you all for your quick responses. I am amazed at how quickly I get answers! This is a wonderful discussion board. Speaking of which, I had just joined another orchid discussion board a few days ago, had never posted, and when I did go to try it out, I got a message that I was a spammer, and was banned from ever posting, and it then said "Time frame bann is lifted: never" ????? Wow! I don't even know how to spam. What is that all about?
