Unhappy Well this blows! Lost my D. cucumerinum

Got it in trade a few years ago and it seemed to do okay though it certainly wasn't a vigorous grower for me it did grow and bloomed a number of times. Recently a couple of the leaves turned a light brown and I figure, well they were just old leaves dying off. Unfortunately the brown quickly spread to all the leaves so apparently I had a fungal or bacterial infestation. This stinks! I'm going to miss those little cucumber leaves. (That was the main reason I got it.) Guess I'll have to hope someone has a division up for trade someday....... *sigh*

If they were grown like any other epiphyte, that was the problem.

They're actually lithophytes in nature (growing on sandstones).

They also grow fairly dry.

Den cucumerinum comes from Australia.

That just sucks. R.I.P. little plant. I've heard of that Den before, and it is one awesome looking orchid. Hope you'll manage to get hold of another one soon.
