Did you take this in for judging? It would appear, at least to me, that it should get a AOS/CCM easily.

Thank you! What a nice compliment! I have never had a plant judged; haven't even joined an OS yet (have been meaning to) - and wouldn't even know where to begin ... but I very much appreciate your compliment!

Thanks but the plant outdid itself  It bloomed well a couple of years ago, which was the first time reblooming for me. I lost most of last year's buds trying to eradicate pests (I really stayed on top of that this year), but I'm astonished at the amount of spikes and blooms this year! Hopefully this isn't a fluke

That certainly is a fine looking plant and what color. Simply beautiful.
I can certainly attest to "not blooming if kept too warm". I got a single spike out of my huge plant that I have had for years.

Sorry you can't gey yours to bloom much  I know these want some cool temps to bloom - wish there was info somewhere on precisely HOW cool they need... I do usually get a few spikes in summer, and spikes that bloom in spring seem to start in late summer/early fall; that's when I see some nodes starting to swell, at least .... so I guess around 50 at night...?  |

I saw this one at the Philly Flower show for the last several years. It has thousands of blooms and always wins its class. The person who brought it in said is weighs about 80 lbs. My husband is standing next to it for scale. Something to aspire too.

 holy smokes! That's amazing! Mine just went into it's 4" pot last year, tho is quickly filling it - but not in my lifetime , I think |
