Cattleya and two Paphs in bloom Male
Default Cattleya and two Paphs in bloom

Currently I have these three in bloom. This is the third bloom this year for cattleya Burana Beauty. It currently has three blooms open plus another spike that has 5 buds and a another sheath forming on a new growth. Love this Catt! I also have Hsinying Citron '#9' x Paph. Maudiae '9701-2 and paph. Primcolor (concolor 'Sun Freckles' x primulinum flavum 'Surprise' in bloom. Several others are starting to bud now that we have cooler temps. SInce it has gotten cooler and all the orchids are back in the basement they all seem to be really thriving again. I think next summer the majority will stay in the basement. I wish the freckles on Primcolor showed in the photo.

nice paphs !!
the cooler weather IMO does bring on some paph bloomage ...many orchids, from what I can find to read, seem to prescribe a temp drop to get blooms initiated especially on paphs..so take note those whose paphs wont bloom...drop the temp 15 to 20 degrees overnight and watch them go

Nice work! They are all gorgeous, but I especially like the mini cattleya. It's a beautiful color.

Great looking blooms. Burana Beauty is a blooming monster! My was set to bloom for the 2nd time this year and I accidentally snapped the spike off! I hate when I do stuff like that! It's maturing another new growth so may get a 3rd set of blooms. I love the Primcolor! It's gorgeous!
