Default Some Ya Win and Some Ya ????

A rather disappointing spring. Lots in flower but, all in all, many with fewer spikes and smaller flowers. What you sometimes get for "out smarting yourself". Tried to go the lazy way with new fertilizer. Some things like the Mtdm did OK but nearly all the Phaius were disappointing. Phaius Wild Thing had few flowers and flowers were rather small. Out of half a dozen or so Phaius species and hybrids, not one was up to potential. So, it's back to my old fertilizing schedule and fertilizer. Oh well, there is always next year!

I got a bit lazy too, but it still looks like yours fared pretty well. Even if the flowers are fewer and smaller, I still like the Phaius. I have Phaius Dan Rosenberg 'Tropical Ice' and I like the peachy coloring on yours alot too.

Both 'Tropical Ice' and 'Mellow Yellow' bloomed here, but, along with Bebe Chen, tankerville and a number of clones of Phaioclanthae Kryptonite, flowers were small and color just plain "blah". Only Phaius Joan Hart really performed to par and yours truly failed to get a picture! I agree with you though Jenn, 'Tropical Ice' grown right is a real treat.

Really like the Phaius and the lip on that Mtdm is pretty stunning.

Hi Jerry! Your flowers look good to me and are always a joy when you post pictures of them.

Perhaps you'd like to elaborate on your fertilizing schedule now and what you perceive to be lazy? I'm always interested in the way others feed their orchids.
