The first time this plant has ever bloomed. It really surprised me! I'm impressed that such a deep colour and flat form is possible through lots of line breeding, but personally I like the classic schilleriana look more so I'll probably end up buying another plant.

That is a very dark schilleriana! Since you suspect line breeding may be the source of the dark color, does it still have a fragrance?

Fragrance being lost through selection for colour and form is definitely what I'm worried about the most since that was a big aspect which drew me to schilleriana and its hybrids. It's only been open for a day, but I'll definitely keep you all updated on if any fragrance develops!
