Ok, I've only owned this a week, but *technically* it did bloom at my house. And I'm pretty excited.... Really like the look of these! Hoping I can keep it healthy

Nice flowers! The Bulbophyllum biflorum looks like it has different coloration than mine, which was purple. What does it smell like? Mine smelled like a pungent watermelon and gave me a headache while taking photos of it, and I'm curious if yours would also smell the same.

I noticed in the description last night it was fragrant and smelled it: nothing. I checked again just now and there is a faint fragrance. I think watermelony would be a good description, but fortunately pungent would not be They smell very nice to me.

The blooms don't look so great today. Do they usually only last a couple of days?

I can't say for certain for this species, mine was pollinated by some flies the day it was fully open so it dropped the flowers and made a seed pod (still green), but my other bulbos usually have their flowers open for around a week.

They are open now. So tiny! Sorry pics aren't great. Camera phone not the best, but you can see what they look like. Very cute.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to report this to mods ----- as you only had this for a week, and you uploaded the bloom picture to this forum.

Actually ... jokes aside ... it is fantastic that you showed the pics of the bloom at your place. The sub-group title does say 'orchids in bloom', so any new orchid flowering pics are greatly appreciated! Definitely being appreciated right now!!

LOL!!!

One thing I really like about this forum is searching for member pics of orchids for my wishlist. When I use a search engine, you mostly see these amazing specimens - sometimes pretty far off from what someone shopping in my price range would get. Here you can get a better idea of if you purchased one what it would actually look like.
