Default You can tell it's spring in Fla.

My orchids really know it's spring around here, the back porch is really starting to get colorful! These are a few that are blooming:

Actually it was spring here in Michigan as well. Lots in spike, not so much in bloom. Nice collection there Jasen.

Spring doesn't start until next month for me. . .not that I am feeling sorry for myself or anything.

My butterfly orchid has been putting out new growth but nada spike. . .what's the secret to get it to bloom?

Very nice collection!

Gwen, it's hard to narrow it to a secret. I think it's more along the lines of "when all the secrets come together". But there isn't really a secret, it's just a matter of giving the plants what they want....spoiling them, if you will. I have two butterfly orchids, and they get the same treatment as the rest, (medium light, high humidity, proper nutrients, and lots of air flow).
