The one cattleya that I've been looking for is Lc. Alaracon 'Grand Sarah'. It is a large light blue with a dark blue throat.

Have you asked at Miranda Orchids? He might know a source for them. He specializes in orchids from that region. Just a thought.

I actually ordered three of them from Marlow's very early this year. The leaves were long and thin, not short and stubby and fatter like Madagascar. I shipped them back-- I have waaay too many Comoro that I thought were Mads!

For me, it is the Angraecums.

Dendrophylax lindenii. Cannot find it anywhere in Australia. Australian quarantine regulations also make me reluctant to attempt an import.

Hi guys, I'm trying to specialize in Cattleya walkeriana & violacea, but, except for tipo, and other 2 or 3 forms, in EU they are very rare..

When you see those curved bottom leaves...it is pretty evident that it isn't the one from Madagascar. Too bad. Both of mine are the Comoro type, too.

Yep, I have a division of Franciso's only nobilior that he's willing to part with! Thanks for the tip though!

I stand corrected. Orchids Limited now has ghost orchids in a variety of sizes back in stock.

Beth - did you ever find the Madagascan leonis? I've been looking for this one for about 4 years now too.

Aerangis maireae - a ***legendary plant*** (probably extinct in the wild). One was recently submitted to the identification task force in Colorado (!!!) but I have no idea who grew it, how they got it, etc. Actually, I would refuse to grow this even if someone offered it to me, because it would be so precious and rare, and I would want someone truly talented in Angraecoid culture to take it, grow it, and propagate it.

Aerangis splendida - almost every single one is actually distincta.

Aerangis confusa, calligera, collum-cygni, stelligera, gracillima...need I go on?

And don't get me started on aeranthes schlechteri...

Ancistrochilus thomsonianus. Troy Meyers released flasks of these several years ago and I hate myself for not knowing about it and not ordering one. If anyone has a piece left, please pm me and a deal involving a first born child may be negotiated.

And then, of course, there are the completely outrageous species that I can't even imagine growing but are so utterly captivating and enchanting it almost hurts to look at them. The Chloraea species, for instance. Also, google bartholina etheliae...I dare you.
