So...I visited Al's Orchids again today. Came home with Dendrobium cucumerinum, Aerangis luteo-alba and Dendrochilum curranii. The Aerangis is in bloom with a second spike, the Dendrochilum is covered in spikes. Happy Valentines Day!

My shopping spree 2015 style
I went to my local nursery's orchid weekend. They have this once a year with many orchids and OS members there to answer questions. I got :
Wils. Castle Issa -Hilo Bay
Pot. Edith North -Danny Adam
Paph. Yerba Buena -white cap x Stone lovely -partner
Cym. Rosy Cloud x Valerie Absolonva #1
and also a Noid Zygo
The Cym. was on the sale rack because the blooms had gone by, so I don't know what color it is
The Paph was also on the sale rack, but it had a dying bloom on it so I could tell it was a large bloom, yellow and white.
so.......no pictures of those two

Well, I've been good for a while (the rescue phals don't count right??), but went to the MVOS show on 2/14 and figured I deserved some goodies for driving through the miserable conditions.....So, I came home with:
Brassavola nodosa (seedling)
Blc. Hawaii Stars 'Paradise' (quite fragrant)
Blc. Your Mine 'NN'
Slc. Sierra Doll '001' (fragrant as well)
Cattleya trianaei v. superba (in bloom and wonderful spicy fragrance)
Dendrobium Angel Moon 'Love Letter'
Epidendrum centropetalum
Laelia anceps (in spike)
And then, as I was leaving, my friend (also an orchidaholic) handed me three Cattleya alliance seedlings:
Blc. Good News 'Carmela'
Blc. Lawless Romeo 'Juliet'
Pot. Little Toshi 'H&R'
And a small Miltassia Dark Star 'Darth Vader'
Looks like I'll have to build some more shelves under the windows before Central Ohio's show in April....

I went to the show today and was very good. I managed to only buy three plants.
Blc. Tsiku Lily "NN",
Pot. Love Passion "Island Romance",
and
Slc. Rojo Circle (Lc. Rojo x Slc. Circle of Life).
The Slc. is not in bloom, but they did have a sample blooming plant there, and the flowers are a nice dark red.

I was so considering getting a C. ludemanniana from Chadwicks, but I talked myself out of it. It smelled so good!
The show was a bit small this year, but I know that was because of the snow.

Yesterday I went to the local orchid vendor complex and considered buying a waist tall blooming Vanda coerulea and a very healthy Phal venosa but I decided not to buy because I ran out of temporary hanging space before I went to my hillside villa where my most of my orchids live

What an self control some of you have to restrain yourself when visiting an orchid store. And how reasonable it is not to buy anything. I do hope to see more of those posts, because maybe, some day, it will help me to get on the right track too.
I still have a lot to learn, I sinned:
Cymbidium compact noid
Cattleya bowringiana
Dendrobium lindleyii
Dendrobium cuthbersonii
Dendrobium Nobile Firebird
Sedirea japonica

I picked up a NOID Oncidium Hybrid with blackish looking flowers yesterday and a Paph. Maudiae from Trader Joe's. Can't believe what I find there from time to time.
