Talking Happy Dance Spikes

So I haven't been on here in awhile (battling cancer), but luckily my hubby has a great green thumb and has been watching over the orchids. Anyway, I felt pretty good today so I decided to clean and disinfect the GH for spring and I found lots of spikes!

I found blooms on my Den. Lori's Star and Dawn Maree. I also have 3 spikes working on my Den canaliculatum plus a bunch of buds on my farmeri and thyrsiflorum. Plus I'm so excited that I have buds working on Eplc Highland Canary (4 spikes)!

Plus my Den jenkinsii and lindleyi are really pumping out the buds.

So exciting and makes me feel so much better!

Maybe you should just get your husband to look after your orchids all the time...
Congrats on spikes

Glad you felt well, and I'm sure finding all those spikes and buds only helped!

I must have messed up winter rest for my Den jenkinsii... ( got it last spring) - any advice?

Hi Sonya,

I absolutely starve my lindleyi and jenkinsii over the winter. Temps in the 50s and the barest of spritz. No water until they throw the first spike.

Sounds like a bunch of blooms to look forward to and I'm glad to hear you are up to doing a happy dance! Post pics when they bloom.
