Default My small-ish haul from Ottawa show today - only paphs and phals

Paphs.
Large one is a blooming sized Paph Lady Isabel with two growths from Piping Rock and
two small seedlings are
Fumis Delight and Dick Wagner from Clouds orchids.

Phals. Large ones from Crystal Star Orchids are cornucervi 'red' with 4 spikes and couple buds growing,
and
Phal. I-Hsin George with multiple spikes and blooms.
Small at the front are two Phal. javanica from Ten Shin:

Large phals are in desperate need of repotting. It is first time I am dealing with such overgrown phal. I am planning to bury all the aerial roots into medium.
Is it the right way?

Thanks for looking.

Small haul? That's already a pretty nice one in my book! Great looking Phal you got!

As to how to repot it, I think it may depend what is the state of the roots in the pot. If everything is very healthy, then I think it would be quite difficult to pot it in a way that would bury the aerial roots. The other thing is that aerial roots often don't take to burying too well, they didn't grow to be adapted to a moister environment. I think you could get it set a bit deeper into a pot though.

Seeing how its falling over the pot like that, why not pot it in a small square basket on its side? I know there is a member who pots up their large phals like that.

Great haul for sure though.

Thanks!
I don't have a basket, usually pot my phals into clay pots with sphag. I will try to leave the aerial roots outside, that clay pot in the picture might be the one I will use.

Crystal Star actually has another plant of the same size with blooms too. Ellen brought me two to choose. I walked away on it in Montreal, but then couldn't forget it and asked her to bring it to Ottawa.
