This is a great question, but a tough one. I'm having to make some hard desicions right now. My advice is to find your focus, your own personal niche. Ask yourself, "what type do I love most, and why?" and "what type do I grow best and why?" My answers have changed a little over the years, but my growing conditions have changed too. Some things that I factor in are: Size, my ability to grow it, seedling vs. clone (I prefer seedlings), quality parentage, breeding goals, heratige/sentimentality.

I give LOTS of plants to my orchid society. I like Terri's idea - I need to give more away to friends. Just make sure you only give away healthy plants. If they are frustrating you, the will surely be frustrating for a newbie.
