Connie--you are too sweet and kind. ![Smile](https://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/new/smile.gif) Hi there.
Latin names tend to be shortened in America, so I'm known as "Maria" at work. I don't necessarily like it. ![Smile](https://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/new/smile.gif)

Hey Guys and Gals ![Smile](https://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/new/smile.gif) I was thinking about this post the other day and, since there are loads of new members since this was originally posted/ discussed, I thought I'd give it a ![BUMP](https://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/bump.gif) and see if anyone else wants to spill the beans on their username!

Well, I'm a pretty old member (literally and figuratively). My username is pretty self explanatory. It is one that I use many places online and comes from my other passion, quilting. When I'm not working or playing with plants I can be found in my sewing studio creating quilts.

I'm not sure this makes sense to anyone. I spelled my name backwards, easy to remember. It's also a bit tongue in cheek. In my native tongue (Dutch) an "ezel" (pronounced virtually the same) is a donkey, also someone who can make quite a few mistakes. And I certainly make my share when it comes to orchid growing.
