I'd really recommend hiking up there if you are ever in this area. The Adirondacks are the largest state park in the lower 48; apparently you can fit all the other big state parks inside it with room to spare. And yep, Morris is on a mission to explore every square inch. He never seems to get tired...

The Great Lakes area is terrific .. some great hiking .. also High Peaks Region ..
- Lake Placid, New York - High Peaks Region
I hiked a few years ago .. It is near Lake Placid .. (some campers were attacked by bears because they didn't secure their food items ... stupid people! )
Lake George is a great base camp as I have also white water rafted down the head waters of the Hudson River at the Wild Waters Rafters - White Water Rafting On The Hudson River: White Water Rafting & Kayaking Programs In The Adirondacks
One of the nicest rivers with (5+) rapids - I'll plan a trip if anyone is interested ...

So OK, here's me. This was taken in 2006 at 'Battle Abbey' on the site of the 'Battle of Hastings' in 1066.
