What kind of hanger is that on the clay pot in the 2nd photo? ..oh a beautiful plant and very nice write up on it also! :)

Thank you for taking the time to view my posting. The wire is from a dry cleaning hanger that I just formed to fit in the 3 inches clay pot. I used a long nose plyers to form a hook at the tip and a "Q" shape to clip the pot in place.

Oh how pretty! I really like Tolumnia they are so small and the blooms have such gorgeous color. I have a jairak flyer "fantastic" and it is flowering for the first time for me. The deep red looks like velvet, even the buds are gorgeous.

I bought mine last spring from Hausermans along with a red barry that has yet to bloom.

Your pictures are beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your kind encouraging words. Please post pictures of your plant when it blooms.

jk, grow them mounted. They will love it. I suspect people who have trouble don't give enough light, or don't water mounted ones enough, or overwater/overpot potted ones.

Thank You !
You are right in saying that.

That is a real beauty!! Great info too, but are they fragrant?

I never had luck with Oncidiums or Tolumnias, they are now missing from my collection. I think I overwatered them.

Thanks for the kind words, Cesar!
No fragrance. You can grow this on your south facing window and make sure to put it outdoors in the summer, overwatering this plant is not a problem in the summer because NY is very humid.

Thanks for the heads-up....I have four Tolumnias and they have no fragrance

Oncidiums and their hybrids, and Tolumnias have very different care requirements. Oncidiums like to stay moist. Tolumnias don't. Tolumnias like much more light than most Oncidiums.

Right, the culture requirements are very different even if they are in the same family

If I could figure out how, I'd print off this thread! Amazing info.

Beautiful! Dancing ladies indeed. I like these a lot, but my conditions aren't warm enough, so I will have to just admire yours instead.

Beautiful!

It looks remarkably similar to my Genting 'Volcano.' So close that they'd make a good case as to the importance of labels if you want a name!

Mine lost it's last bloom about a month and a half ago, your photos make me miss it.
