Rawdon Jester has the reputation of being much easier than Ros. grande. The Ros. williamsianum parent can basically be grown with Phals temperature-wise and should potentially give this at least 10 degrees (F) more heat tolerance than Ros. grande, as well as hybrid vigor.
Mine is a small plant. I've had it for years already so I think it just stays fairly small. The blooms are the only big part on it
Thank you, very useful. What do you do with it in the summertime?
I second what Paphmadman said. While most of our summer is not extremely hot, we do get a hot spell in mid to late August where temp can reach 90+ in my area for a week or two. However, night time almost always drops back down to the 50s to low 60s.
Our summers can be quite warm occasionally in the 90's also but usually more in the 80's. Nights cool off but usually in the 60's. I might put it outside this summer again and see what it does. I'm getting tired of waiting for it to bloom. But I love the blooms so I keep holding onto it.
