Oncidium Help: Rusty spotted pseudo-bulbs!
Hey everyone!
I recently ordered an Oncidium Sharry Baby online. On closer inspection, I found that the pseudo-bulbs of the orchid were developing brown rusty spots. It seems as if the orchid is confused whether to rot or not (Please find images attached).
I have sprayed the orchid yesterday with fungicide (Carbendazim 12% + Mancozeb 63% WP).
Am I doing something wrong here?
I would appreciate some help!
Thanks!
Hansu

Oncidiums can have rusty spots normally. Are the p.bulbs firm? If they are soft and mushy that is a problem, but if they are firm and just have spots that can be normal.

Hi,
I have to agree with wintergirl, this looks normal for oncidiums; they can get some spotting on foliage or pseudobulbs, "blushing" when exposed to high light levels, and lose a lot of leafs while still being healthy and happy.

I would agree that I wouldn't be too worried about it based on the pictures.
