Oncidium twinkle won't bloom. PLEASE HELP
Hello everyone. I have so many questions about my oncidium twinkle. I bought it in January at an orchid show in San Francisco. It came with probably a hundred flowers and they lasted about a month after I bought it. After the flowers dropped I cut the spikes and by March started getting new growth. It is November 1 now and I have about 6 new growths. Even one of the growths I got back in March has a new growth ( not flower spike but new growth). I keep hearing about how they flower multiple times a year and I haven't gotten mine to bloom once. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Watering too much, not enough light, too cold, too hot. PLEASE HELP!!

The older yellowing leaves will drop off on their own with time, just like phal leaves do.

2 spikes per pb is the norm, but I've seen even more!

You just got this plant. I know it seems like you've had it for a while but, in terms of orchids, this plant is still new to your collection. I also got mine in March and it is blooming for the first time since I got it.

I was told by Robert Fuchs down here in RF orchids, they can bloom up to twice a year. And to never cut the spikes. It just finished blooming 4 months ago. No buds forming at the moment. I'm down in Miami.

I've had mine for YEARS and I've only had it bloom once per year. Typically 2 spiked per pbulb (one per side) and sometimes a third spike from the apex of the pbulb. I suspect that the multiple blooms per years requires that that the conditions be just right. I have never had a spent spike rebloom.

Me either, they dry up and I cute them off. I have had mine for years and it only has bloomed once a year. I of course wasn't taking good care of it and now that I am it is going to be really nice this year.
I can't wait till it opens.
