Thank You for the visit!
As per posting of one of our members, this orchid plant spikes really tall even in situ.

Holy Wow! That is impressive. Hats off to you in not only getting it to spike but caring for it, seems way too easy to ruin a spike that tall!

Thank You !
the spike is thin and frail but bends to the wind and very malleable....I had to tie it to three bamboos I joined together before it opened its blooms.
To photograph it, I used plastic butterfly clips, a Vanda wire hanger to a nail in the wall.

This came from a grower in Kissimmee, Fl....way back when I was first starting to build my collection of orchids.

Do you remember the grower's name? Or was it a hobbyist grower who had an extra cutting?

He was a hobbyist who was disposing of some of his orchids because he was moving to a smaller space. I cannot afford expensive orchids so I look for those who are giving them away or looking for adoption. I just lucked out on this plant because I was very ignorant about orchids then....I was just beginning....

Interesting orchid, I've got one of these, do you think they'll grow better with the same light intensity given to vandas
