I was curious so took a close look at the other seedlings.
At least one other has a spike developing.
Observations
- bulb needs to "mature"/plump out/become pronounced before spike develops. ( duh ?! )
- can spike, have new growth and roots - all at the same time
- it seems that growing under lights, cooler, may change the flowering "season".....to anytime, providing bulb is mature as defined above
- a consistent relatively low temp doesn't prevent blooming, whereas, based on previous experience, higher temps do.

I love your thread. very informative with pictures and details over a long time.
your plants all look very nice.
I should get seedlings, but not enough patience. lol
I love these plants, but they get so easily affected by incorrect watering.

Am I understanding this correctly that a compot you got was brought to blooming size in 19 months, basically? That's pretty fantastic!

blooms ! First bloom seedling ! Can only get better !
scent is honey/floral - already pervasive in the basement. I might have to move it upstairs !
At this stage only 1 other seedling has a spike and hopefully that changes as we head into Spring.

That's amazing. Always thought most seedlings took up to 5 years to bloom.
