Is it a spike or pseudobulb on my Oncidium?
This leap day I got an unexpected gift: a new growth on my Oncidium Gower Ramsey. I wonder if it's a new pseudobulb or (gasp!) a spike.
The plant was rescued from the "death row" at Lowe's about 3 months ago and grew quite a few roots since then

Your plant looks nice and healthy, I believe the new nubbin you are seeing is a new growth. Spikes usually come up through the lower leaves.

I agree, most likely a new growth. Congrats.

Very nice.
Joann is right, it is a new growth.
How exciting for you.

After 10 days of growth I see it's definitely a pseudobulb, not a spike.

you have other mature bulbs that might spike soon...Josh is right, you also might get a spike on that nubbin when it matures...no worries
