Default Bert Fields 'Leash' buds & old blooms

yup this is one of about 3 little plant clusters I got a few months back.

Repotted them all and here they were then with Daddy Bert

I put 2 of them back in one pot bec they didnt like being separated. They like buddies.

They are budding now bec I believe after being in the greenhouse and taking them inside where the temp drop was almost 25 degrees got them to bloom
He has 6 buds..We see how many can be flowered

I dont have much else and I got a jones for a bloom!!

The 1st blooms are always small and few. The older stronger plants will bloom crazeeeeee

This is not Bert but as you can see...This plant now has 12 new shoots a foot tall but no bulbs yet. goodness I hope I can bloom this baby out.

But thank you for looking

Fantastic job! I steered clear of Miltoniopsis because I thought it to be to hot. You have given me hope.

flhiker - If you get them to bloom in S Florida, I want to know your tricks. They hate it here in Central Florida. I finally broke down and gave all mine to a friend with a refridgerated cool house, they are blooming their little butts off now.

they are a little feather in yer hat if you can do it .

These plants will grow and bloom right next to you on the couch and watch TV with you. They love it in a cool house. Last year I killed all the ones I had leaving them outside after they bloomed thinking they would enjoy the humidity. These dont need the humidity. They dont like the heat at all and will get rot real fast if they get overheated. The leaves are so thin they will turn to mush overnight.
and the plus is they smell good!!

Thanks you all hope to see you in a few weeks with some blooms on Little Bert

I did learn from these. I read after the fact of course, to remove the plant from high light when budding and to put in a lower light level. These do grow in for me in high light right next to everything else cool.
This does 2 things, keep the buds from being burned or blasted and keeps the intensity of the flower color... Yup lost 2 buds and the rest have burned tips. Opened they look kind of retarded but they still opened even if this batch is mugg ugly . and Yes bright light for some blooms wash them out and they will look faded.. So these when they are budding or blooming its okey to put them in lower light levels to enjoy them longer

Thank You//will post pics when I can..

I have now a yellow Miltoniopsis Zorro 'Yellow Delight' with many spikes..Just need to get a pic of it but no buds have opened yet. I didnt know that these can have spikes from each leaf off the bulb. I have several that have 3 or more spikes per growth.
