Hey there! My beautiful Miltassia Shelob Webmaster is in bloom and she seems very happy What do I do about her back bulbs (I hope I'm using the right terminology)? Here are a few photos:
When she is done blooming, you could divide the plant if you like leaving some back bulbs with each half.
If you want to only remove the back bulbs from the plant you can sometimes pot them up and get a new plant. If the back bulb is soft and weak however, I usually discard it and would remove it regardless.
If you are removing backbulbs though sometimes you will divide your plant intentionally or not.
they're still pretty sturdy, so I guess I'll leave them alone. Also, she puts out a lot of blooms around this time and I don't want to disturb her. So leave them, unless they get smushy, right?

absolutely!
from what I have observed on my Miltassia, spikes start when the new growth is nearly fully developed
