I grow mine in an east window about 6" from the glass, keep it moist but not wet with alot of air curculation (fan). I water/fert with rain water 2-3x a week during the summer and usually 1x in the winter.

Hi & Welcome!
I grow mine in a W window in summer and a south window in winter. They like sunshine!& like water but as Joann says above it must not be soaking wet. I also have a couple in S/H which they love too. I have 2 sweet sugar plants one in s/h & 1 in bark both are in spike now.
hope this helps.
