Default Brsdm. Shooting Star 'Black Gold'

Santa brought me this cutie last Christmas (it had already bloomed out). I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get it to bloom this year....I guess the Orchid Gods are smiling on me!!

There are three spikes total...had four but one turned into squirrel lunch... ...I didn't think I'd be all that impressed with this (at the risk of seeming snobbish... ) but it turns out, it's really pretty neat!!

The scent is very faint and sweet...much like a brassia...DUH!!!

This is beautiful, I just love them
Funny how you talk about the squirrels, I've lost a number of these to them (More then any other orchid) I think they actually prefer these over many other orchids.
Good reason to always have a few of these hanging around, No?

Ooh I love that My wish list is getting long but I have to pace myself in this new hobby. My husband is already worried there will be no room left in the house for him from the way I talk about orchids
