Holland Flower Festival
I went to see this this weekend, and it was great! It's the largest tulip show in the Netherlands. There is an area with vendors, and in previous years I heard there was an orchid vendor there as well, but he wasn't there this time
It was wild seeing so many tulips in one place!
In April I'm going to the famous Keukenhof gardens, which is simply out of this world. 7 million flower bulbs are planted annually, on 32 hectares. I'll post some pics after it!

Gorgeous!
What a great fix for the winter duldrums
I bet it must have been a great pick-me-up because your photos are a definite mood lifter
They have me smiling
I look forward to the photos of the Keukenhof gardens

Wow! The colors are breathtaking! Where is this festival, Amsterdam? My husband travels there for work (to Roden) and he would love to see this. Which is the best month to see the tulips in bloom? If we go Mar 27- Apr 7 will there be lots of tulips? I went in July and they were finished blooming. I love the Netherlands, nice people, beautiful country!

Fabulous photos! and those hyacinths must have smelt wonderful! My tulips are about 3" tall! I underplanted dark red pansies and wallflowers with Orange Triumphator, but the pansies and wallflowers haven't had a flower since October! So much for planning!

The festival finished today unfortunately. It was in Zwaagdijk, near Hoorn, an hour north of Amsterdam. It made me forget how cold and dreary it was outside, but reminds me that spring isn't too far away! And when you are going is the perfect dates, if the weather isn't all weird like last year! Early to mid april you have everything blooming at once: crocuses, daffodils, muscari, tulips, hyacinthes.... You should absolutely go to Keukenhof. It's in Lisse, west of Amsterdam. You can even rent bicycles there to tour the tulip fields.
