Pretty flowers. These are very cool plants. I grew some from seed once but never got them to bloom.

Nice job! Would rather get a flower from a "stone" than blood!

Both flowers open, and a preview of things to come:

Very cool!
The all yellow flower looks a lot like my Faucaria blooms. Funny how so many cacti/succulents have very similar blooms. Well, I guess there could be differences but to my untrained eyes they look similar.

I was informed by someone on another forum that the family Aizoaceae have such intense coloration because the pigments in their blooms aren't the anthocyanins that most plants use, but rather betalains.

Faucaria and Lithops are both in the ice plant family, Aizoaceae. The family used to be called Mesembryanthemaceae and a lot of people still call them mesembs. The whole family has very similar flowers. What look like petals in this family aren't really petals. They're appendages to the stamens.
A lot of mesembs are very cold-hardy if they get good drainage, and some if they don't. Plenty are being grown in the ground in Denver.
