Ceratostema silvicola
Ceratostema is an epiphytic blueberrie, a tropical heath or scientifically a genus of the Ericaceae. Many genera and plants in this family have stange looking colourful showy flowers. Their pollinators are hummingbirds, who also draw attention to this plant, when strolling through the forrest. It is said that flowers or fruits are delectable, but I've never tried.
My plant sits in this pot for many years, together with Neoregelia bicolor var. tricolor. It has formed a large tuber. Tendrils are 1-2 meters long and need some framework to twine along. Tufts of pending flowers are produced in February.
