Well, then, I guess it will flower when ready.
More leaves, the better! Let it grow.

Here is one that I bought last year at a CVS Pharmacy or some such store. It was one of the seasonal amaryllis bulbs in a box. After it flowered I just left it in the orchid room and it grew leaves. Around October I took it outside to cool and I brought it back in a week or two ago. It started growing again as soon as I brought it back in with the orchids.

Red Lion??
Whatever it is, it is a nice return of red flowers!
I like the sheen near the center.

Nice red!
NYCorchidman,
I wanna say the name had something to do with weddings or brides.
I dunno.
It's a big double white I think...
I have another, La Paz. But I don't think it'll flower this year. It nearly died lol.
That is my maxillaria tenuifolia in the background.
I bought it like that. Sort of half mounted on a board. It seems to love it so I've never changed it.

My apologies for taking this off subject, but I just checked mine and there isn't any new growth. Usually I wait until I see a little nub of growth then bring them slowly into the light and start watering. Is that wrong? FYI, I tend to be about a month or so behind everyone else's bloom posts, lol...
Please just PM me as I don't want to distract from the topic.
Beautiful blooms though! Didn't realize others had such an interest in them! Guess I should have though since not everyone likes orchids... Hehehe... Oversight on my part.

Paul, I bring mine in before there is any growth, and I don't move it slowly, just re-pot, water, and put on the windowledge.
I water once when first brought in, then not again until it is looking dry, by which time it's usually growing.
I understand some people aim to have them flowering for Christmas in this country, they put them out cooler in October and even cut off the leaves if need be, leave them out 6 weeks then bring back to the warm, water and wait for them to grow.
I always let the leaves die back naturally, and usually put it out in November or even early December if I forget. I then bring it in when I remember to, trying to give it at least 6 weeks out. This year it was mid Feb I brought it in, it got growing within a week.

Big Double white...Alfresco, Ice Queen, White Peacock...there are quite a few in that category also.
If I looked at it, I could probably tell you what it is.

That is correct and that's what I do.
My two other bulbs are still not doing anything, and all three bulbs have been "resting" since about November or December, so just wait and see.

Mine never go to sleep on their own as the temperature does not get cold enough to knock the leaves down in the fall. So I simply stop watering completely in late fall. Leaves will start dying then. I keep the pots bone dry until I see flower stalks emerging.
I move the pots to the window (unless they are already there) where they get the sun and I start watering gradually. Too much water can rot the bulbs without leaves to use them.
Mine bloom in the spring. not exactly the same time each year but it is usually between late January and April.

Alfresco is particularly vigorous compared to others, and it also sends out three flower stalks easily each time it flowers. The flowers are also scented.
The flower size isn't that big and the bulb size is rather smallish as well, so I don't think yours is Alfresco.
