Have you guys read about the New York City eatery that is selling a $25,000 dessert? It has edible gold in it and is served with diamonds and other pricey stuff. I mean, who wants to eat gold? (I read this on Yahoo!, by the way.) If I had that kind of money, the last thing I'm going to spend it on is a dessert! That is for people who have so much money they don't know what to do with it all.
I'd rather buy orchids than eat gold!
Gold leaf can pass through most people's bodies without any side effect unless they are, which is rare, allergic to it.
The last place I want to admire gold is at the bottom of a toilet!
They use to give gold injection for people with rheumatoid arthritis to reduce the pain and inflammation at one point in time .. I am not sure if that is still practiced today.
I just had to chime in here on this one....It really irritates me when I hear about people dropping 25,000 on dessert and silly things like that when I am a student/waitress working my tail off all of the time. I mean come on!!! I make decent money for a college student but I still have to pick up extra shifts at the end of the month to make ends meet!! Some people really don't understand the real meaning of a dollar. I could pay off my student loans and my credit cards and buy and new wardrobe for that amount! I don't think I could blow it all on dessert, thats for sure!
I totally agree with you, Jamielee. No one has ordered it yet. I bet it doesn't even taste good. I would be freaking out that I was eating gold if I had it.
Hey Dorothy, how did the gold reduce the pain for people with rheumatoid arthritis?
Buds - Thank my 'other brain' the internet .. I find most of my info there .. but I had heard of gold injections done years ago. Overall .. I'm just curious more than knowledgeable ..
Most times I am more like this -->>
Dorothy,
What I think is special about you and alot of people on the OB is their willingness to share.
The world could do with more nice people... like orchid people...
Cheers,
Buds!
Quote: therapy can take months for action and sometimes presents severe side effects which have diminished their use in recent years.
I know of a couple of people who were helped by the gold shots but had to discontinue because of the side effects. Sometimes the question is....6 of one, or a half dozen of the other?
