I grow what I use for cooking and odd stuff that I found mentioned in books. A type of artemisia that I grow is a very effective insect repellant (wormwood...who can resist a name like that?).

Yes Sonya, catnip does count. It is in the mint family after all. It can make a pretty good tea.

I grow the usual stuff; parsley, cilantro, basil, oregano. With the exception of the oregano, I never have enough of the others when I want them for cooking!

I also grow two Japanese herbs (ao-shiso and myoga ginger) and Thai lime. If you ever get the a hold of the lime, scratch and sniff the rind. Amazing aroma.

I myself grow a few traditional Chinese medicinal herbs. Here is my list:
Rehmannia glutinosa
jiao-gu-lan
blackberry lily
tumeric
gotu kola
wolfberry

Check out their descriptions on my thread called 'My Herbs'. I will be posting more on there soon.
