Wow!! Amazing collection! I'm not that crazy! Currently in my basement there is a huge elephant ear, 3 cannas, a passionflower and spike. I do mostly annuals and perennials so there isn't much inside. My landlord's son (yes we rent, if we owned it'd be even worse ha ha ha!) thinks we've created out own arboretum. They LOVE it! Our landlord almost gets tears in his eyes when he talks about it! His wife is in a wheelchair and she loves coming down to see the gardens!
I'd love to see outside photos of your gardens!!
You can see mine on gardengirl13's Photo Galleries at pbase.com under the seasons and some under gardens too (but those are mostly visited gardens.)

Collecting one's own plants is cheaper than visiting a botanical garden or the tropics and one can enjoy the environment on a daily basis.
What type of passionfruit do you grow? I grow the yellow one common in Hawaii and one that should have been a maypop but it doesn't seem able to survive outside nor does the flower look quite the same so I suspect it is an unknown flowering type. Does yours get really large? Mine grow inches a day becoming monsters by spring/fall when it gets a trim.
I don't grow under lights so that, thankfully, limits the number of plants...at least in one place. ![Smile](https://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/new/smile.gif)

It's passionflower not fruit. It's a lovely white petals with blue. I also don't have lights. I have two VERY smal typical basement windows that face south but get basically no light. I let everything go dormant. Basically I cut everything down to about an inch and only water every 4-6 weeks. I did leave the elephant ears and passionflower and spike going though to see what they do as it's the first time I've tried to get them through more then one season. Of course the elephant ear has two huge new leaves in the last 2 weeks! The passionflower is about the same, some leaves are falling off, we'll see. I also keep my potted herbs and hens and chicks in the garage instead of sinking the pots in my gardens. I keep the rosemary in the house though. Nice west window and it does ok. Doesn't grow much, but she doesn't die either which is what I'm after.
How bad is it that in August I was already planning next years gardens? Normally I go through that in January when the snow has me dreaming of spring. I'm thinking it's because next year I may not be working any more and I worry about money. I'm trying to see what HAS to be bought (veggies) and what should be bought, like my annuals, and then what I can divide. My shade garden is so wonderful this year that I think I can divide just about everything in it! So I can almost double the size of it for almost free! I'll need to buy some nice top soil and compost/manure and mulch as we live on a ridge that is 90% rock.

I recently steered away from carnivorous plants, but I grew Sundews, Venus Flytraps, Pinguicula, Nepenthes, Utricularia, Cephalotus, and Sarracenia. I've just got a ping and a nep left. I also have a few random houseplants, and a few succulents.

I grow hoya, blooming cacti, African violets, venus fly traps, nepenthes, sundews, I have a small mango tree, and outside tons of perrenials (going to get some cypripediums soon), a large garden, a smaller garden, and a nice sized mini orchard with sweet and tart cherry trees, apricot trees, peach trees, apple trees, and pear trees. Also have blue berries, black berries, raspberries, and strawberries.

My new baby! My local favorite spot for getting my orchids had a few of these over the summer. They were HUGE! I wanted one so bad, but didn't want to spend a lot (I was afraid to even check the price!) Well they must have been popular because last week they had a bunch more in and had some small ones and slightly bigger small ones, which is what I bought. I did have to cut a few pitchers off due to them drying out. I'm not sure how to care for it so I looked it up and it's a lot like orchids. Same light and soil, but more water. I really really hope it does well. It's hanging above/near an east window as it likes AM sun. So far it's doing ok, but again it's only been a week. Wish me luck!!

I love nepenthes! Do you know what kind it is? Make sure you give it pure water.

It didn't have a tag on it so I don't know what it is. It looks the same as the large ones they have which are about 4' across and the pitchers were about 12" long! Not sure if this will get that big or not. If anyone knows what it is let me know!
And what do you mean by pure water? We have well water that's got a pH about 7.5 and it's fairly hard. But no chemicals added at all, no filtration, nothing. Is that ok to use or should I buy distilled? I do keep my water in a watering can to keep it room temp too.
