Our back yard
I just thought I would share several photos of our back yard. They aren't the best light and don't do it justice. It is so lush and park like at this time of year and the lilies are just outstanding throughout the yard at this time. Anyways the first two are approaching our sitting area from the back of the house and greenhouse. The 3rd is from the back of the yard looking toward the house which shows my greenhouse along the back wall. The flowerbeds are all mostly raised and quite full of perennials that keep me in bloom most of the spring and summer and a few in the fall. I add some annuals.
The greenhouse is set down about 3 feet with an insulated concrete pony wall. It is 30 ft long by 11 ft deep. One whole long side is attached to the house and one short side is attached and has an entry to the heated garage. It has a green shade cloth on the roof for summer. It is heated with an energy efficient Pulse natural gas furnace that also heats 1/3 of our home. The rest of our house is heated with in floor heat as it is a slab house. The greenhouse is made of triple glazed slide opening windows and the roof is triple glazed poly... Anyways, that clear plastic stuff! It has a cooling system for summer as well and a dirt floor.
Just thought I would share.

Wow! That's a nice sized backyard. In my 'neck of the woods' builders try to cram in as many houses as they can and therefore only have a small backwayrd.
I'd love to sit in your backyard.

Now I understand why you want to downsize your orchid collection. That's a beautiful backyard, and quite a big green house. Thanks for posting.
