Hi Evan! Wish I had your knowledge of the gorge, but there are some places we want to go yet either this summer or next. We saw Oneonta falls, but did not see Pool of the Winds and will have to put that on our list along with Beacon Rock. Dog Mountain is already on our list and in fact we had a trip planned there a few weeks ago that had to be cancelled.

The one thing wrong with Oneonta Falls was that there were more people than I expected. It's such an amazing little gorge to hike up, but the crowds detracted from it somewhat.

Hamilton Mountain is another great hike, though also has the potential for a few more people on the trail. My parents and I hiked that trail for Mother's Day a few years ago. It was a great hike, but it was still pretty cold. It even snowed (well, slushed) and the wind was pretty strong. Dad and I haven't quite let Mom forget that one.

There are so many places to see on our end of the country, I wish I could have spent my whole life here.
