username suggestions
Use a name you feel describes you or your interests. And.....please don't use "gal", "guy", etc. unless you are looking to hook up with someone of the opposite sex. There are other ways to show your gender if you think it necessary. Is there a particular genus of orchid you are really crazy about? Do you have other hobbies that could be adapted into a name?
Re: not wanting to seem a newbie. If the other group looks down on newbies, do you really want to go there?
My user name was chosen long before I got back into growing orchids and reflected my interests at that time. I still photograph (orchids now) and still am interested in fashion (I design and sew most of my clothing). It would be a real hassle to change it, so, I'll stick with fotofashion.

I like "CallMeBob" too and I doubt anyone else has it.

That is awesome! And most likely what I'll use. Thanks alot! I also just realized that in my signature ( depending on which board I join, some are picky) I can write something about OB and help being my username here. Idk it depends on how picky they are. Not so sure what board I'll join yet. Maybe I'll lurk for a bit to see if there is one that seems nice.

I cant say that another forum does or doesn't look down on newbies as I haven't joined anywhere. But even here I've gotten the occasional person who thinks I'm a newbie (I sort of still am, but not to the extent I used to be) now I'm not saying anything against anybody who thought that ( after all it's just instinctive when you see a username that is help ) or anything against newbies. And also, if you think about it, help is a pretty weird name! Haha maybe I am over thinking this.
Haha! I should be Nero Wolfe! :P

I like that TAFKAH, but I would change it to The Grower Formerly Known As Help,
I like Beverly's suggestions.
I would stick to something neutral. Something that would still define you in a few years no matter of what.

Got any other hobbies or interests? Tindos ID works great. Anywhere I see a Nazgul name I know who it is.
You could always incorporate your location into your name too. I got "DelawareJim" to distinguish me from the other Jims in my unit when I was doing American Civil War reinacting. It works so well, I use it for all my forums. "HarrisburgHelp"?
Cheers.

Planted tanks...you a member of the Lancaster club meeting at That Fish Place? I get up there a couple of times a year with several GWAPA members. I was just up there for Rachel's talk on inverts. Got a half dozen sweet Cory. habrosus from her; wish I got more.
