What exactly would be the difference between an inflorescence and a flower?

The inflorescence of Aroids includes the spath and the spadix. The spadix has hundreds or thousands of male and female flowers. They normally open at different times so that self pollination is less likely. Each flower on Amorphophallus titanum is most likely about 1/2" (probably smaller). So, it's not possible for this plant to have the largest flower. The flower of Rafflesia is a single flower per peduncle (stem holding flower). Currently I have 2 Amorphophallus in bloom, A yunannensis and kuisianus. Neither smell like much. No when my Dracunculus vulgaris bloomed it was very aromatic.

Please realize that only the spadix holds the flowers and the spathe is a modified leaf that has evolved to help attract pollinators and so is part of the inflorescence.

I think that's what I wrote minus the part about the spathe.

Yes you did, sorry. I didn't see that.
I read
"The inflorescence of Aroids includes the spath and the spadix. The inflorescence has hundreds or thousands of male and female flowers."
Which is not what you wrote. Thanks for pointing that out. My minor dyslexia getting me into trouble again.

No apology necessary, I do it all the time myself.

Yes it is. This is the second time it has flowered. I had it around 10 years or more. I took a picture at dusk and the scent has picked up big time. But the fly's are loving it.
