I have one Nepenthes, several Droseras, one Dionaea and one Pinguicula. But I don't know what's wrong with the droseras, all of them are dying. I think they hated summer time.

Sounds like a consensus. Plenty of CP growers here. I may not be the most knowledgeable on this subject, but I may get a group going. It sounds like I could learn a lot from you all. Look for an invite.

At one time or other I've grown (or tried to) all of the above. Also had 2 Darlingtonias at one point. One of those I grew in a bog terr -- no air circulation or water movement, and very much on the warm side. (Which btw should never have worked). Grew it like that for years. Then one day decided to divide it and try a division in a different enviroment. Wouldn't ya know -- both parts died. *sigh*

Rather surprised, Steve, that they didn't last longer than that for you though for you to succeed in keeping them alive for the long term would be a challenge. They require a cool/cold winter's dormancy to retain their vigor.
Presently I have D. capensis, D. adelae (a surplus of that one actually ), & S. purpurata. Had a vft last summer but the %$#%$ birds kept nipping the traps off and ripping up the media trying to steal the moss.
I have tried several Pings (tropical varieties in my terrs), but for the life of me I cannot keep them alive.

I used to keep carnivorous plants years ago, way before I became addicted to orchids. I love them and they were also easier for me to keep because they slept in the winter. Didn't need to worry about special lights, humidity, heat, etc.
I'm not sure what a social group is, but I'd be interested.

Social Groups are a new feature here on the OB. It's just another layer of communication for specific groups of members with partucular interests. The CP Growers group is open for anyone to joind, but I'll send you an invite to help you find it.
