Tried to ID via dragonfly ID guides but no luck... other than what it looks like the only additional information I can supply is that I live on a golf course.

Found on my patio table, as large as it appears. Seemed to be wounded and I couldn't help but think how much it looked like a downed AH-1 Cobra.













Unfortunately it didn't recover...when I wasn't looking my cat killed it, I fed the remainder of it to my pitcher plant

Try this site, They have Identified a butterfly for me once. They were fast and friendly. If you find out please post your answer, you have me curious too! Actually I think they would love your clear and up close phots, good job!
