I've never been able to get into classical. Strictly a rock guy I guess.
I had forgot about this thread so I'll provide answers to my post.
I have never met Adam Sandler. Even though he grew up not far from where I live now and he is "home" fairly often since he became 'famous', our paths have just never crossed. I hear he is as funny in real life as he is working.
I am retired from the aerospace industry where I spent several years working on some of our national space programs. I have had the honor of spending a fair amount of time with both Buzz and Elon. Buzz is absolutely one of the funniest human beings I have ever met. Talk about stories! Elon is kind of what you'd expect I think. He's different but I'm pretty sure you have to be to be as creative as he is. One night at a conference in Logan, Utah I stopped by the Space-X hospitality suite which was being held way offsite at the airport. They had it inside a hanger which in itself was kind of neat but while colleagues and I were chatting with Elon he says out of the blue, "want to come outside and check out my new plane?" He had what I think was an older retrofitted 727 that he had completely tricked out as a flying home/office. We got quite the personal tour which was very cool and answered the question of why they were way out at the airport.
Barry Goudreau (guitarist for 'Boston')- I grew up right outside Boston and spent every winter weekend skiing with a friend. A couple times a winter our families would rent a place at one of the mountains where we would occasionally be joined by his cousin Barry and his family who were all also big skiers. Barry went everywhere with a guitar talking about wanting to be a rock star. He succeeded!
Steve Tyler- Aerosmith was formed in little town called Sunapee, NH just a couple towns north of where I live. Steve and Joe Perry spent summers there as kids which is how they met. Steve still has a home there on Lake Sunapee and I've bumped into him numerous times over the years at the grocery store, hardware store or functions. Super nice guy!
