Calanthe rosea
I have been looking for Calanthes for a while, but they are hard to find. Then, a couple of months ago Fishing Creek Orchids came to Deep Cut OS to speak, and Stephen Male brought a variety of plants for sale, including 3 different deciduous Calanthes. The first one to bloom is Calanthe rosea, which is easy to identify on the combination of flower color, and the pinched waist on the bulb.

Lovely flower, I am a great fan of the deciduous tropical Calanthes. They are likewise hard to find here in the UK. I have 3 different hybrids in bud, I will post pics when they open

Oh, Calanthes! Very nice genus. I would like to have a Calanthe vestita, a gorey and a sieboldii (or hybrids! Why not?). Calanthe vestita is kind of easy to find and she is beautiful! Love your pic by the way! Congratz on the bloom!
